Available tests
The following Labs images are available with GMetrix testing integration:
- Adobe Creative Cloud 2021
- Microsoft Office 2019
- Autodesk Suite 2022
- Unity Development
Support for additional applications and tests will be introduced in the coming months.
Getting started
To publish Labs Classes with GMetrix testing, simply create a new Class with a supported image (listed above) and be sure to include the "GMetrix SMSe" application in the list of published applications for your class.
When published, your students will see the GMetrix icon published to their session's desktop. When they launch GMetrix SMSe, they can sign in with their GMetrix account and access their available tests as they normally would.
For applications that include GMetrix integration such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office, launching a test will automatically open the appropriate application and display the test materials alongside the application. For applications without integration such as Unity, students can launch the application as they normally would and follow along with the test instructions to completed their practice tests.
Licensing
Students will need valid GMetrix accounts and licensing in order to use GMetrix software in itopia Labs. Please visit gmetrix.net to create a new account or support.gmetrix.net to contact helpdesk for other issues.
Applications used for GMetrix testing are subject to the standard licensing terms for that software. For Adobe Creative Cloud and the Autodesk Suite, your users must have valid licenses and will need to sign in to the application when they launch (unless you have configured an Autodesk Network License Server in Labs).
Licensing for Microsoft Office is included for all Labs users, and students will not need to sign in or provide any licensing information.
itopia Labs published the Unity Personal development tools, which are free to use and not subject to explicit licensing. Students will not need to provide licensing information for Unity in Labs.
